MySkaut Urban Air Mobility
MySkaut is an Array of Opportunity startup, designated a qualified Opportunity Investment that will launch in and operate throughout retail corridors of Opportunity Zone communities as a monument to the potential of innovation in economic development by demonstrating 1) relevance to community sustainability, 2) economically scalable, 3) UAM workforce development.
The company seeks to raise of $24m and through a series of Online Equity Offerings and tradition VC financing. The operations platform will be built when 1st round funding has been completed. The desired startup funding is $2.5m with $700k allocated to development of the platform and $800k allocated to team development and go-to-market efforts.
MySkaut pilots began operating commercial missions in September 2020 to develop real world use case and digitally map the built environment of target areas on Chicago’s south and west sides. Forecasted revenues are $7.5m in year 3 and grow to $24m by year 5 by scaling the footprint from 3 in year 1 to 25 by year 5 in Chicago.
The concept and prototypes were developed by Demetrius Brown, a Chicago entrepreneur as part of a 2017 inclusive innovation accelerator and officially launched in Chicago as a line of business for XtraMedium Communications September 2020.
MySkaut is normalizing commercial low altitude airspace (CLAA) services by making UAV capabilities routinely accessible and affordable to businesses and consumers. The service enhances security options in communities as well as serves as a workforce multiplier.
The completed operations platform will support the growing the customer base in the test market and frictionless scalability to other U.S. municipalities amenable to UAM.
